The non-profit organisation Carmen-Elena Rotaru and her Espace Musique & Art enables you to learn music in a different way!
Teaching music
Learning music is, above all, a relationship between a pupil and a teacher. The starting point of our teaching method is therefore the musical experience of each pupil, which explains why our classes are open to all. From the youngest (starting at 3 and a half) to the eldest, beginners or proficient musicians, on the guitar, the piano and including singing…
Our team of musicians will immerse you in music while combining learning and pleasure. The instrument and how to play it are taken up from the first lesson, as are aspects of music theory.
Based in Uccle in a peaceful, comfortable and accessible building, the Espace Musique & Art offers classes and plenty more besides. In particular, courses, concerts and recitals that will enable you to further expand your musical horizons!
Music to help others
The Espace Musique & Art also devotes itself to hospitalised children, for whom music can be very therapeutic. So teachers from the Espace Musique & Art give lessons at the Reine Fabiola Children’s Hospital. With this approach in mind, we also intend to go into other institutions, such as old people’s homes.
At your service: the team
It all began when Carmen-Elena Rotaru, renowned musician, met Claude Fontaine, administrator of various societies, shrewd manager and also a lover of classical music. By pooling their savoir-faire, they have created a perfectly organised structure offering high-level content for a better way of learning music!

The Espace Musique & Art is a team of distinguished musicians under the masterful direction of Carmen-Elena Rotaru. Each of these musicians is a maestro on the instrument which they teach. And it goes without saying that the learning philosophy combining theory and practice of the instrument is followed to the letter.

In calm and accessible surroundings: the space
We welcome our students into an environment that is especially conducive to learning music. In Uccle, in a light and airy building, in spacious rooms that breathe tranquillity, close to everything but in a bucolic setting. You can come here outside of class times to practice or quite simply to take pleasure in music! What’s more, we provide you with the instruments on which you learn.
